Frequently Asked Questions FAQs:

Question #1: What does Technotristic even mean? And where did it come from?

Answer: The term was coined by Nicolas, the six-year-old son of our acting director, Margot. "Nico like loves anything involving science, math,, Numbers and space; he's certainly a tech whiz. By age five, he was already proficient in C++, a major programming language, and he taught himself entirely online. (He's my only child, and I can't help but brag a little.) One day, he became frustrated with something online and had a breakdown. I encouraged him to take a break, and afterward, we discussed the constantly evolving technological landscape and its impact on computer literacy, especially for older adults. He expressed concern about the challenges seniors face in adapting to these changes, emphasizing the need for more user-friendly interfaces and accessible technology so everyone can participate in modern life. I was deeply moved by his words and, more importantly, his compassion. We considered emailing Elon Musk to suggest naming his next child "Technotristic," but decided to keep the idea to ourselves. A technotristic world is one where technology unites us, helps our community, and  benefits all members—young and old, from all walks of life—rather than becoming another source of conflict.

On a different note, I frequently remind myself that he is only six years old because he sometimes surprises me with his insightful questions and thought processes. This highlights the significance of early brain development and how rapidly our brains grow during those formative years..

Question #2.: How much does a enery audit or consulted cost and what does it cover?

It's free. Completely free and offered in two stages. A simplified first stage focuses on a single home improvement, such as installing an energy-efficient thermostat. Alternatively, you could obtain new energy-efficient appliances at no cost. You may have heard about rebates and are understandably skeptical; you might wonder why it's free. The reason is that we face a severe environmental crisis, necessitati ng changes in our energy and resource consumption. However, widespread participation requires accessibility to information and user-friendly online government applications. Even with a computer science background, I've experienced difficulties with online forms, resulting in unwanted telemarketing calls—a common problem. The program i s free because the government aims to encourage widespread participation, leading to long-term financial benefits for those involved.

Question 3.: Why should I consider renewable energy solutions?

Renewable energy solutions can reduce your carbon footprint, lower energy costs, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to a more sustainable future for the world for years to come. Please don't hesitate. Our world is in a dire environmental crisis. We can't put it off any longer.
